Did you see what I done?

The title of this blog post is also the name of one of J Hus’s hit songs.

I’m terrible at saying to other people “Did you see what I done?” Translation: I’m terrible at self promotion.

Want me to promote your company or product? No problem. I can create a granular strategy complete with spinoff tactics. It'll take into account:

  • Internal and external stakeholders

  • Marketing channels

  • Brand guidelines

  • Business goals

  • Industry conditions

But when it comes to promoting myself?  Tragic. I do almost nothing. I like doing the work, not telling people I do the work. But I've realised that telling people I do the work, is part of the work.

Which is something I should have realised long ago, and apply to myself because that's what I do for work.

I’ve spoken to a lot of copywriters/creatives and they have a similar issue.

I’ve had to force myself to make these blog posts public. A lot of them I’ve written ages ago and just had them sitting in the cloud, like some lazy deity.

I now need to stop procrastinating and become my own client.

It’s time to channel my inner J Hus. These blog posts will be the major part of promoting myself, along with my upcoming YouTube channel.
